Using Your HSA or FSA for IV Therapy

Many IV therapy treatments at The Good Life IV qualify for HSA and FSA reimbursement. Here is how it works, what qualifies, and how to use your card or submit for reimbursement.

Yes, In Many Cases

HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds can be used for many IV therapy treatments at The Good Life IV. Some drips qualify on their own. Others need a Letter of Medical Necessity from a doctor. A few wellness-only drips may not qualify.

The rules depend on your plan and the IV you pick. The good news: when an IV does qualify, HSA or FSA funds are pre-tax dollars. You can save 20 to 30 percent.

RN every visit. Medical Director every protocol. We make HSA and FSA paperwork easy when an IV qualifies.

Using Your Card at Checkout

Step 1

Confirm Eligibility With Your Plan

Before booking, log into your HSA or FSA portal or call your administrator. Ask if IV therapy is covered under your plan. Most plans cover medically necessary care. Some require pre-approval for wellness services.

Step 2

Book Your IV

Book online or by phone. During booking, let us know you are planning to use HSA or FSA. We can help match you with a drip that is more likely to qualify.

Step 3

Pay With Your HSA or FSA Card

We accept HSA and FSA cards at checkout, both for mobile and studio visits.] Most cards work like a regular credit card. The transaction shows up on your HSA or FSA statement automatically.

Step 4

Save Your Receipt

Keep your receipt and any documentation we provide. If your administrator audits your purchase, you may need to show that the IV was medically necessary or backed by a Letter of Medical Necessity.

Paying Out of Pocket First, Then Reimbursing

Some clients prefer to pay with a regular card and submit for HSA or FSA reimbursement after. The process usually looks like this.

  • Pay with your regular card at the time of service
  • Save your detailed receipt (we provide this automatically by email)
  • If needed, request a Letter of Medical Necessity from our Medical Director
  • Log into your HSA or FSA portal and upload the receipt
  • Some plans require a CMS-1500 form. We can help you fill this out if needed
  • Reimbursements typically process in 7 to 14 business days

Our team can help with paperwork. Phone us at (480) 674-8268 with any questions about your specific submission.

When You Need One and How to Get It

A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a short note from a licensed medical provider stating that a specific service is medically necessary for you. Some HSA and FSA plans require an LMN for wellness-focused services like IV therapy.

Our Medical Director can write an LMN when one is needed. The process looks like this.

  • Tell us during booking that you need an LMN for HSA/FSA
  • Complete your Good Faith Exam as usual
  • Our Medical Director reviews your specific situation
  • If clinically appropriate, the LMN is issued within 1 to 2 business days

HSA/FSA Questions, Answered

  • Will my HSA or FSA cover my IV?

It depends on your plan and the IV. Most plans cover medically necessary IVs. Wellness-focused IVs may require a Letter of Medical Necessity. Check with your administrator first to confirm.

  • Do you accept HSA and FSA cards directly?

Yes, we accept HSA and FSA cards at checkout for both mobile and studio visits. Most major HSA and FSA cards work like regular credit cards in our system.

  • What if my card is denied?

Some HSA and FSA cards have eligibility filters that flag wellness services. If that happens, pay with a regular card and submit for reimbursement after. Save the receipt and any documentation we provide.

  • Can I use HSA or FSA for my membership?

This depends on the membership structure. Most plans do not cover wellness memberships, but per-visit IV charges within a membership might still qualify. Check with your administrator.

  • Do I need a doctor's prescription before booking?

No. The Good Faith Exam handled by our Medical Director or a contracted provider counts for our IV therapy purposes. For HSA/FSA reimbursement specifically, some plans want additional documentation. We can help with that.

  • Is there a difference between HSA and FSA for IV therapy?

Both work for qualified medical expenses. HSA funds roll over year to year. FSA funds usually expire at year-end. The rules for IV eligibility are similar, but always check your specific plan.

  • How do I know if my plan requires a Letter of Medical Necessity?

Call your HSA or FSA administrator or check your plan documents. Look for the term "Letter of Medical Necessity" or "LMN" in your plan rules. We can help guide you on what to ask.

  • What documentation do you provide automatically?

Every IV visit comes with an itemized receipt by email. The receipt includes the date, the IV name, the price, and our provider information. This is enough for most HSA and FSA submissions. LMNs and CMS-1500 forms are available on request.
