The Good Faith Exam — What It Is and Why You Need One
A short pre-IV consult required by Arizona. Quick, painless, and a key step in keeping you safe.

A 5 to 10 Minute Consult
The Good Faith Exam is a short pre-IV consult between you and a licensed medical provider. It happens by phone or video. Most consults take 5 to 10 minutes. Once you are cleared, the clearance is good for up to a year.
It is required by Arizona law before any IV therapy. Every reputable IV provider in the state runs them. The reason is simple. An IV puts substances directly into your bloodstream. A licensed provider needs to confirm that an IV is safe for you before you get one.
RN every visit. Medical Director every protocol. The Good Faith Exam is one of the steps that makes this true.
What the Provider Looks For
During the Good Faith Exam, the provider reviews:
- Your basic medical history
- Any chronic conditions you live with
- Medications you take
- Known allergies, especially to vitamins or medications
- Recent symptoms or illnesses
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding status
- Family history of relevant conditions
- The specific IV you want and your wellness goal
If something in your history calls for closer review, the provider works with you to find a safe protocol. Sometimes that means a different drip. Sometimes it means a smaller dose. Sometimes it means working with your regular doctor first. The goal is always to make the IV safe for your specific body.

The Difference Between Real Care and a Wellness Gimmick
Some IV companies skip the Good Faith Exam to move clients faster. The trade-off is that they deliver IVs without confirming the IV is safe for the client. That is a real safety risk. And in Arizona, it is also against the law.
At The Good Life IV, the Good Faith Exam is non-negotiable. It is one of the things that makes our care real. We never skip it.
If a provider ever offers you an IV without a Good Faith Exam, that is a red flag worth paying attention to.
Good Faith Exam Questions, Answered
Is the Good Faith Exam free?
It is included in your IV booking with no separate fee for first-time clients.
Do I need a new exam every time I book an IV?
No. Once you are cleared, the clearance is good for up to a year. After a year, we run a quick recheck.
How long does the consult take?
Most consults take 5 to 10 minutes. Phone or video, your pick.
Can I do the exam right before my IV?
In most cases, yes. The exam can happen the same day as your first IV, often just before our nurse arrives.
What if I am turned down?
Sometimes the provider catches a reason a specific IV would not be a safe fit. When that happens, the provider helps you find a safer option. A different drip. A smaller dose. Or a referral to your regular doctor first.
Is the exam done by a doctor?
By a licensed medical provider. That includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. All are qualified to clear IV protocols.
Do I need to fast or prep beforehand?
No. There is nothing to prep. Just be ready to chat about your basic health history.
Is my health information private?
Yes. Your information is protected by HIPAA and stays inside our secure system. Only the provider, your nurse, and our Medical Director have access.
Real Safety. Real Care. Real Wellness.
