What is a lipo-MICC shot?
A Lipo-MICC shot is a small injection in the arm or hip. MICC stands for methionine, inositol, choline, and cobalamin. Cobalamin is vitamin B12. These are helpers your body already uses to process fat. A registered nurse gives the shot in about five minutes.
What lipo-MICC does in your body
Each part has a job. Here they are in plain words.
- Methionine. An amino acid. That is a building block of protein. Your liver uses it to help break down fat.
- Inositol. A vitamin like helper. It helps your body handle fat and sugar.
- Choline. Helps your liver move fat along so it does not pile up.
- Vitamin B12. Helps your body make energy and red blood cells. Low B12 can leave you tired.
Together these are called lipotropic. That is a big word for “fat moving.” The shot gives your body more of the helpers it already uses.
Here is the honest part. A shot does not burn fat on its own. Food, movement, and sleep do the heavy lifting. The lipo shot supports that plan. The B12 in it may help you feel less worn out along the way.

Is it safe?
Yes, when a nurse gives it and a provider clears it. That is how we do it every time.

- Some people feel a little sore where the shot went in. It fades in a day.
Who should skip it or ask first: anyone allergic to vitamin B12 or cobalt. Anyone pregnant or nursing, unless a provider approves. People with liver or kidney problems should ask first.
This is a wellness service. It supports a plan. It does not replace one. Talk to your doctor before any big change in weight.

Can you come to my house for just the shot?
On its own, the shot is a studio visit. For mobile, we add it to any IV visit. See our service area.

Yes, before your first visit. It takes about five minutes. It is good for one year.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Many HSA and FSA cards work for eligible services. Insurance does not cover it. Check HSA and FSA rules.
