Standing on concrete all day
Most vendors work ten to twelve hours a day. Buyers walk miles between tents. Your feet swell. Your back aches. You sweat more than you think, even in February.

The Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase runs January 27 to February 14, 2027. The main TGMS show is February 11 to 14 at the Tucson Convention Center. If you sell or buy rocks, you will be on your feet for days. We bring the IV to you. Same day in most cases. Registered nurses. Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and the Foothills.
It is a one liter IV drip given by a registered nurse. They come to your hotel, rental, or home during the gem show. The most booked bags are the Hydrate IV ($150) and the Hangover IV ($295). Hydrate is for long days in the tents. Hangover is for the morning after Fourth Avenue. Each drip takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Most people feel better before the bag is done.
Quick facts
From the event’s own announcements. Check its official site for changes.
The gem show is about 50 shows spread across Tucson for almost three weeks. Vendors set up in tents, hotel rooms, and parking lots. Buyers drive from show to show all day. Then everyone meets downtown for dinner and drinks.
Mornings are cold. Afternoons are warm. The air is dry all day. You stand on concrete for ten hours. You skip lunch. You talk to hundreds of people. By week two, your body feels it.
A nurse comes to your hotel room, your rental, or your RV where access allows. You get a full liter of fluids, vitamins, and the medicine you need. You feel better in about an hour. Then you open the booth again.
Most vendors work ten to twelve hours a day. Buyers walk miles between tents. Your feet swell. Your back aches. You sweat more than you think, even in February.
Tucson mornings in late January are cold. Bring a coat. By 2 pm you are in short sleeves. Your body works hard to keep up with that swing. You burn through fluids and salt.
Tucson sits at 2,400 feet. The desert air is very dry. You lose water with every breath. Most people do not drink enough to keep up. Headaches and dry lips show up by day three.
Dealers close up and head downtown. Dinner turns into drinks. Drinks turn into a late night. Alcohol pulls water out of you. It burns through B vitamins. That is the hangover you feel at setup the next morning.
Buyers fly in from all over the world. The flight dries you out. The time change throws off your sleep. You land tired, and the shows have not even started. The Jet Lag IV is built for this.
When you are dry and worn out, your stomach is slow. Water sits there. Only a small part gets to your blood right away. An IV skips the stomach. It goes right to work.
