Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude sit in the Cottonwood Canyons just east of the valley. Those four often average more than 500 inches of snow a year. Park City is about 22 miles east of downtown. Long ski days at that height are hard work. The Athletic Performance IV is on the menu.
Salt Lake City International sits about 4 miles west of downtown. It is a hub for Delta and by far the busiest airport in Utah. A long flight, a time change, and then the altitude. The Jet Lag IV is the travel day drip.
In winter, cold air gets trapped in the Salt Lake Valley under a layer of warmer air. These inversions can last for days. The valley turns cold, foggy, and hazy while the mountains stay sunny. The Cold and Flu IV is on the menu all winter.
The Jazz and the Mammoth play downtown at the Delta Center. The Utes play at Rice-Eccles Stadium, and BYU plays in Provo. Salt Lake City hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, and the IOC has awarded it the 2034 Winter Olympics. Late nights, early mornings. The Hangover IV is for the morning after.
