Columbine is unincorporated, mostly in Jefferson County with a small piece in Arapahoe County. The neighborhoods reach from Bowles Avenue south to the Chatfield Reservoir dam, between Littleton and Ken Caryl. Much of it went up fast between 1958 and 1968, after the Martin Company built a missile plant in Waterton Canyon.
Each visit begins with a quick health check. Then the drip runs for about 45 to 60 minutes.
