Why Idaho Springs people book an IV

Ski days up the road

Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are just up I-70. The ski areas and Loveland Pass top out above 12,000 feet. A day up there leaves you dry, sore, and sunburned. The Athletic Performance IV helps tired legs bounce back.

Sleeping at 7,526 feet

Many skiers stay here to be close to the lifts. The first two nights are the hardest. Headache, dry mouth, and poor sleep are common. An IV helps with the dry, dragging feeling many visitors get.

Hot springs and hot tubs

Indian Hot Springs is right in town. A long soak feels great after a cold day. It also makes you sweat. Pair that with thin air and a few drinks, and you get dry fast. Drink water, and let a drip top you up.

Beer and pizza after the lifts close

Beau Jo’s pizza is right in town. After the lifts close, a few drinks often come with it. Visit Denver warns that your body can’t process alcohol as well up high. The Hangover IV helps the next morning.

Mining town history, all year

The Argo Mill and the old downtown draw visitors in summer too. Hikers, history fans, and road trippers stop here. The sun is strong at this height. Water goes fast even when it is cool out.

When I-70 traffic is worst

CDOT says the heaviest traffic comes around the holidays and school breaks. Weekends in January and February are the worst. Westbound gets slow Friday from 2 to 7 pm. Eastbound gets slow Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Backups can start as early as 11:30 am.

That is why we do not promise a time on a ski Sunday. If you want a Sunday drip, book a morning slot. A Monday visit works too.

How it works

How a mobile IV visit works in Idaho Springs

  1. Book online, call, or textTell us where you are staying and when you ski. Book online in about two minutes.
  2. Quick video callBefore your first IV you do a short video call with a nurse practitioner. She takes your history and writes your order. It takes about five minutes and it is good for one year. It is how we do it in every state. Do it from the rental the night you arrive.
  3. Your nurse drives up I-70In winter, mountain weather and I-70 ski traffic can slow us down. We tell you a realistic window when you book.
  4. The dripVitals first. Then 45 to 60 minutes for most bags.
  5. DoneYour nurse packs up. You rest up for tomorrow’s first chair.

Groups, visitors, and corporate

Ski crews rent big houses and split the cost. A whole group can get drips the night before a big day. One nurse handles up to four people. Bigger groups get more nurses. Groups of 4 or more save 10 to 20 percent. See group IV therapy.
