Quick shot Vitamin D
Sunshine in a shot.
Medically cleared by Mellisa Kerchief, NP, our Medical Director
Plenty of people still run low on vitamin D, even where the sun shines most days. A quick vitamin D3 shot puts it back. A registered nurse gives it at our Biltmore studio or with any mobile IV visit.
- Indoor workers
- Daily sunscreen users
- People over 50
- Darker skin
- Summer months
What is a vitamin D injection?
A vitamin D injection is a quick shot of vitamin D3. It takes about five minutes and costs $32. We do not put vitamin D in an IV bag. It is always a shot. Get it on its own at the studio. Or add it to any mobile IV visit. A registered nurse gives it.
What vitamin D does in your body
Your skin makes vitamin D from sunlight. Your body then uses it to pull calcium from food. Calcium builds your bones and keeps them strong. Vitamin D also helps your immune system do its job. And many people say their mood lifts when their level comes up.
It sounds strange. The sun is right there. But most of us hide from it.
- Sunscreen. It blocks the rays your skin needs to make vitamin D. Keep wearing it. Just know the trade off.
- Indoor jobs. Car to office to car. The sun never touches your skin.
- Summer heat. From June to September it is 105 to 115 out. People stay inside all day.
- Darker skin. It makes less vitamin D from the same amount of sun.
- Age. After 50, skin makes less of it.
If you want to know your level, ask your doctor for a blood test.
Signs you might want vitamin D
- You work inside all day.
- You wear sunscreen every day. Smart, but it blocks vitamin D.
- You stay inside all summer.
- You have darker skin.
- You are over 50.
- You feel flat or low and want to rule out a low level. Ask your doctor for a test.
- You want a monthly shot instead of a daily pill.
- Your doctor said your level was low and you want an easy fix.
Add-on or shot?
Vitamin D is a shot only. It does not mix into an IV bag. But you can get the shot at the same visit as any drip.

Safety first
Is it safe?
Yes, for most people. Too much vitamin D is not good, though. That is why our nurse practitioner sets the dose.
- A registered nurse gives every shot.
- Our nurse practitioner reviews every order.
- Sterile, single use supplies.
- We ask about your health and your medicines first.
Who should skip it or ask first: people with high calcium in their blood. People with kidney stones, now or in the past. People with kidney disease or certain other conditions. Tell us if you already take a high dose vitamin D pill. Our nurse practitioner decides.
This is a wellness service. It does not treat any disease. If you want to know your level, ask your doctor for a blood test.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Still wondering? Text us or call (480) 674-8268.
How much does a vitamin D shot cost?
$32 at our Biltmore studio or added to a mobile visit. Members pay half.
Do you do vitamin D shots near me?
Yes. Or come to the studio. See the full service area.
Is it a vitamin D3 injection?
Yes. Our shot is vitamin D3. That is the same form your skin makes from the sun.
Can vitamin D go in my IV?
No. Vitamin D does not mix into IV fluids. It is always a shot. You can get the shot at the same visit as your drip.
How often should I get one?
Many people book one shot a month. Our nurse practitioner sets a plan for you.
Is this a high dose vitamin D injection?
One shot holds more than a daily pill. Our nurse practitioner sets the dose for you. We do not list doses online.
Vitamin D shot vs pills, which is better?
Both can work. A shot skips your gut and lasts longer. Pills need to be taken every day. Ask your doctor which fits you.
Why am I low when I live?
Sunscreen, indoor jobs, and summer heat keep the sun off your skin. Darker skin and age also lower what your skin makes.
Does it help mood?
Many people say they feel brighter once their level comes up. It is not a treatment for depression. Talk to your doctor if you feel down.
Do I need a blood test first?
No. But a test is the only way to know your level. Ask your doctor if you want one.
Does insurance cover it?
No. Most HSA and FSA cards work for eligible services. We take all major cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. See HSA and FSA details.
