Why Red Rocks fans book an IV

The altitude hits at 6,450 feet

Red Rocks is higher than Denver by more than 1,000 feet. Many fans fly in from sea level for one show. They land, check in, and head up the hill. Headache. Short of breath on the stairs. An IV helps with the dry, dragging feeling many visitors get.

The stairs and the climb

Getting to your seat is a workout. The walk up from the lots is steep. The rows are steps. At this height, your heart and lungs work harder. You sweat, you breathe hard, and you lose water fast.

Drinks hit harder up here

Visit Denver says your body can’t process alcohol as well at altitude. Two drinks at Red Rocks can feel like four at home. Add a late night and a long drive back. The Hangover IV is the morning after drip.

The sun and the dry air

Day shows and sound checks happen in full sun. Visit Denver says there is 25% less sun protection at this height. The air is dry, like the desert. You lose water just by breathing. Most people do not drink enough to keep up.

Twice the water

Visit Denver tells visitors they need about twice as much water here as at home. Most fans do not come close. They are busy with the show. A liter of fluids before doors gives you a head start.

The town of Morrison

Morrison is a tiny town. About 364 people live here. It sits right below Red Rocks, where Bear Creek comes out of the hills. On show days it fills with fans. The rest of the week it is quiet. We serve the homes in town and the rentals around it.

How it works

How a mobile IV visit works for Red Rocks

  1. Book online, call, or textTell us your show date and where you are staying. Book online in about two minutes.
  2. Quick video callBefore your first IV you do a short video call with a nurse practitioner. She takes your history and writes your order. It takes about five minutes and it is good for one year. It is how we do it in every state. Do it the day before the show if you can.
  3. Your nurse drives outIn winter, mountain weather and I-70 ski traffic can slow us down. We tell you a realistic window when you book. Show traffic can slow us too, so book early.
  4. The dripVitals first. Then 45 to 60 minutes for most bags. Rest and hydrate.
  5. DoneYour nurse packs up. You head to the show, or back to bed.

Groups, visitors, and corporate

Red Rocks is a group trip. Friends fly in from all over. Birthday crews and bachelor and bachelorette weekends rent a house near the park. We bring enough nurses for everyone. One nurse handles up to four people. Groups of 4 or more save 10 to 20 percent. See group IV therapy and bachelor and bachelorette IVs.

Safety first

Safety

  • Sterile, single use supplies.
  • We check your vitals before every drip.
  • We ask what you drank and what you took.
  • Insured.

What we do not treat. We are a wellness service, not an emergency service. Watch for chest pain, trouble breathing, confusion, or a friend who will not wake up. Call 911 or get to St. Anthony in Lakewood. Serious altitude trouble is an emergency too.
