IV add-on NAC
Help your body make its own top antioxidant.
Medically cleared by Mellisa Kerchief, NP, our Medical Director
NAC is a building block your body turns into glutathione. Add it to any IV after a hard weekend. Or add it when your chest feels heavy. A registered nurse adds it to your bag at home or at our Biltmore studio.
- Liver support after drinking
- Heavy chest
- Thick mucus
- Antioxidant support
What is a NAC add-on?
NAC is short for N-acetylcysteine. It is a form of cysteine, an amino acid. Your body uses it to make glutathione. Glutathione is your main antioxidant. It helps your liver clean up. As an add on, NAC drips in with any IV bag. NAC is an add on only. We do not give it as a quick shot.
What NAC does in your body
Think of glutathione as your body’s cleanup crew. It grabs the junk that builds up from stress, alcohol, smoke, and hard workouts. Your body makes it on its own. But it needs the right parts. NAC is the part that runs low first.
Here is what NAC helps with, in plain words.
- Liver support. Your liver uses glutathione to process alcohol and other junk. NAC gives it more to work with. That is why people add it after a big weekend.
- Lungs and mucus. NAC helps loosen thick mucus. Many people add it when their chest feels heavy or full.
- Antioxidant backup. Sun, heat, travel, and late nights add up. NAC helps your body keep pace.
- Recovery. After a race, a long hike, or a hard week, NAC helps your body reset.
NAC and glutathione work as a team. NAC helps you make more. Glutathione gives you a dose right now. Many people add both.
