What is Innings Festival IV therapy?

It is a one liter IV drip given by a registered nurse. You get it at your hotel, home, or rental during festival weekend. The most booked bag is the Hangover IV ($295). It has fluids, vitamins, and medicine for nausea and headache. It takes about 45 to 60 minutes. Most people feel better before the bag is empty.

Built for Innings weekend

Innings is three days on a lawn by the lake. No shade. Sun all afternoon. Music until late. Then Mill Avenue is right there, and it stays open.

You stand for hours. You walk from your hotel to the park and back. You dance. You sweat. You drink. The desert air pulls water out of you the whole time. By Sunday most people are running on empty.

A nurse comes to your hotel room, your rental, or your house. You get a full liter of fluids, vitamins, and the medicine you need. You feel better in about an hour. Then you go back for the last set.

What Innings Festival does to your body

Three days standing on the lake

The park sits right on Tempe Town Lake. It is flat, open, and packed. You stand from the first set to the last. Your legs, feet, and back feel it by Saturday.

The sun on the lawn

Tempe in late February is warm and sunny. There is little shade on the lawn. You sweat all afternoon and do not notice. You lose water and salt with every hour.

The walk from Mill Avenue

Most fans stay on or near Mill. The walk to the park is short. You do it four or five times a day. Then you do the bars at night. It adds up.

Late nights on Mill

The music ends. Mill Avenue does not. Three nights of that in a row leaves you short on sleep. Alcohol pulls water out of your body. It burns through B vitamins. That is the hangover you feel in the morning.

Spring Training crowds

Cactus League games run all weekend. Town is full. Some fans catch a day game in Tempe or Scottsdale and then hit the festival. Two events in one day drains you twice as fast.

Why water alone will not fix it

When you are dry and hungover, your stomach is slow. Water sits there. Only a little gets to your blood right away. An IV skips the stomach. It goes right to work.
